By using standard ADAT optical cables, it adds 8 channels of high-end analog I/O to your setup without the clutter of multicore cables. It features the same elite-level clocking and conversion as the flagship 500R8, ensuring that the "mojo" of your analog modules is captured with 121dB of dynamic range and ultra-low jitter.

High-Performance Conversion & ADAT Expansion:

The 500ADAT provides 8 channels of recording and playback via ADAT. It supports SMUX II/IV, allowing for high-resolution audio expansion:

• 44.1/48kHz: 8 channels of I/O.

• 88.2/96kHz: 8 channels of I/O.

• 176.4/192kHz: 4 channels of I/O.

  Every stage of the signal path is designed for transparency, using a master reference-quality internal clock (<0.5ps jitter) to eliminate digital artifacts.

Advanced Summing and Monitoring:

• 8-into-2 Analog Summing: Located after the 500 series slots, this high-headroom mixer (+26.5dBu) lets you sum DAW stems through your analog hardware. Use the dedicated level and pan controls on the front panel to create a stereo mix with authentic analog "glue."

• Zero-Latency Artist Mixer: Create professional monitor mixes for musicians by blending live analog inputs with DAW playback.

• Dual Reference Headphone Amps: Two independent outputs with enough power to drive even high-impedance headphones with a linear frequency response down to 1Hz.

Versatile Routing & C.A.S.T.:

The Cranborne Audio 500ADAT features Source Select switches for each slot, allowing you to instantly toggle between Analog, ADAT, or C.A.S.T. inputs. The proprietary C.A.S.T. system enables you to send and receive 4 channels of balanced audio over a single Cat 5e/6/7 cable, perfect for connecting breakout boxes in vocal booths or other rooms.
