Deep Impact with Power and Precision
The KH 805 II is the perfect solution for professionals requiring bass extension with signature Neumann precision. It improves upon its predecessor with a novel 10” woofer featuring Extremely Linear Force Factor™ (ELFF™) technology and intelligent protection limiters, ensuring exceptionally low distortion even at maximum SPLs. Designed for music, broadcast, and post-production, it serves as a flexible bass manager for stereo systems or a high-output LFE channel for immersive and surround setups.
Next-Generation DSP Integration:
The KH 805 II is MA 1 Ready, allowing for perfect alignment of the entire monitoring system. When combined with analog Neumann monitors such as the KH 310 or KH 420, the subwoofer’s internal DSP can optimize not only the subwoofer itself but also the connected loudspeakers, correcting both amplitude and phase. This seamless integration ensures a cohesive, high-resolution soundstage that was previously only available in fully digital systems.
Precision in Every Detail:
The rigid, ultra-stiff wooden cabinet features a highly efficient bass reflex system, meticulously tuned for tight bass reproduction with inaudible port noise. Since subwoofers are typically floor-placed, a robust metal grille protects the high-excursion driver from accidental damage. The cabinet design ensures very low group delay and is built with excellent self-damping properties to minimize unwanted resonances.
Versatile 2.0/0.1 Bass Management:
The KH 805 II offers four distinct routing modes to fit any studio configuration:
Stereo 80 Hz: Standard bass management for 2.1 systems.
External Bass Management: For use with external controllers.
LFE up to 120 Hz: For cinema and broadcast standards.
LFE Full Range: For dedicated sub-channel handling.
By offloading low frequencies, the main loudspeakers can play louder with significantly decreased harmonic and intermodulation distortion.
Professional Connectivity and Control:
The subwoofer features electronically balanced XLR analog I/O with high common-mode rejection (CMRR) to reduce noise over long cable runs. For digital workflows, the 192 kHz / 24-bit BNC input accepts both AES3 and S/PDIF signals. A network connector allows for full system control via the MA 1 software, while the universal switched-mode power supply ensures reliable operation in any country.
Bass Extension to 16 Hz: Deep, precise low-end with high SPL reserves.
DSP-Controlled Precision: Linearizes phase and frequency for the entire monitoring chain.
10" ELFF™ Driver: Long-throw woofer with resonance-optimized basket for ultra-low distortion.
MA 1 Automatic Alignment: Seamless calibration for stereo and multichannel (with extension) setups.
Flexible Routing: 4 routing modes for Stereo, External, and LFE applications.
High-Efficiency Protection: Soft-clip, excursion, and separate thermo limiters for maximum reliability.
Digital I/O: Supports up to 192 kHz/24-bit AES3 and S/PDIF signals.
Eco-Friendly Standby: Auto standby function reduces power consumption when not in use.
Mastering & Mixing: Reference-grade low-end for critical tonal and dynamic decisions.
Immersive Audio: Powerful LFE foundation for Dolby Atmos® and surround suites.
Analog System Upgrade: Adds DSP-alignment to existing analog Neumann KH line monitors.
Broadcast & Post-Production: Reliable, high-SPL monitoring for demanding environments.
