Authentic Sound, Revolutionary Design
The Sunadavinodini is the result of years of research into the acoustics of the traditional Veena. It is a "collapsible" instrument, meaning the neck can be separated from the body for easy travel in a standard suitcase. Despite its slim profile, it produces a rich, resonating sound using advanced high-fidelity sampler technology. It is essentially a "solid-body" electronic Veena that provides a consistent reference pitch and tone, unaffected by the weather or string tension issues that plague wooden instruments.
Enhanced Playability & Sustain:
The instrument features a specially designed fretboard with 24 fixed stainless steel frets. Unlike traditional Veenas where the wax-set frets can shift or melt in heat, the Sunadavinodini's frets are permanent and perfectly aligned. The adjustable sustain allows the artist to control how long a note rings out, facilitating smooth gamakas and complex meend (slides).
Integrated Digital Controls:
Scale Changer: Built-in digital tuning allows you to shift the base pitch (Adhara Shadjam) over a full octave without manually retuning the strings.
Volume & Tone Control: Independent volume controls for the main strings and the talam (side) strings. You can also adjust the tone from "Mellow" to "Sharp" to suit your performance style.
Built-in Speaker: Includes a high-quality internal speaker for personal practice, eliminating the need for an external amplifier in small rooms.
Professional Stage & Studio Features:
The Sunadavinodini is equipped with a 1/4" Line-out jack, allowing you to connect directly to a PA system or studio mixer. This ensures a clean, feedback-free signal even at high concert volumes. It also features a headphone jack for silent practice.
Power and Portability:
Dual Power Mode: Operates on a universal SMPS (90V – 260V AC) or the built-in rechargeable battery, providing up to 4 hours of performance time.
Lightweight: Weighing only approx. 4 kg, it is a fraction of the weight of a traditional Tanjore Veena.
3.5 Octave Range: Full keyboard-style range with 24 fixed frets.
Collapsible Design: Neck and body separate for easy international travel.
Natural Veena Tone: High-fidelity digital samples of a professional Saraswati Veena.
Built-in Scale Changer: Effortlessly shift pitch across a full octave.
Dedicated Talam Strings: Features 3 side strings for rhythmic accompaniment.
Visual Display: Digital LCD shows the selected Pitch, Volume, and Settings.
