Building upon the success of its predecessor, the Solid State Logic SSL 2 MKII 2x2 USB-C Audio Interface raises the bar by delivering premium 32-bit / 192 kHz audio quality with a series of carefully curated feature additions and a user-friendly design that caters to both those starting their creative journey and seasoned professionals. Whether recording a podcast or live streaming on social media, creators have all the tools needed for high-quality content creation. Two class-leading mic preamps capture every nuance in conversations and voiceovers, while the built-in stereo loopback function functionality enables audiences to hear virtual guests or system audio with ease. Featuring SSL’s next-gen AD/DA converters, punchy mic/line/instrument inputs, two professional-grade headphone outputs, and the SSL Production Pack, SSL 2 MKII gives music producers everything needed for professional-quality sound in the studio. With essential connectivity for microphones and instruments, including auto-detect instrument DI inputs, SSL's Legacy 4K analog enhancement to impart that unique mojo to your tracks, and zero-latency monitoring to comfortably capture performances, SSL 2 MKII enables songwriters and artists to quickly create great-sounding demos—all the way to finished tracks ready for streaming. And for live performance, SSL 2 MKII also offers DC-coupled line outputs for sending control voltages (CV) to synths, bridging studio and stage.

Two High-Gain SSL Mic Pre / Line-Level Inputs

• The SSL 2 MKII is equipped with two high-performance SSL-designed microphone preamps delivering a massive 64 dB gain range and outstanding 116.5 dB dynamic range.
• The design uses a mixture of specially chosen discrete, low-noise transistors in combination with ICs to deliver performance far beyond what’s usually associated with a portable bus-powered interface.
• Both mic/line channels are equipped with independently switchable high-pass filters to clean up rumble, and for condenser microphones, switchable +48V phantom power, so you can record with a mixture of microphone types at the same time.
• The two XLR-1/4" combo inputs double up as line-level inputs, designed to capture keyboards, synths, samplers, drum machines, or external audio processors like EQs and compressors. With a huge 117 dB dynamic range and +24 dBu maximum input level, SSL 2 MKII’s line inputs are compatible with all professional line-level equipment.

Two Hi-Z / Instruments Inputs

• In addition to the XLR-1/4" combo mic/line inputs on the back panel, SSL 2 MKII features two dedicated 1/4" auto-detect instrument (DI) inputs located on the front panel.
• Just like you find on a guitar amp, these Hi-Z inputs allow you to record guitar, bass, or anything with a high-impedance output.
• SSL-designed DIs—as found on their larger desk-top mixers—deliver amazing weight, detail, and texture to your instrument recordings, making sure you have the best possible sound to process in your DAW.

2 Balanced Outputs

• Located on the rear panel, the two 1/4" balanced outputs let you connect your studio monitors.
• With professional-grade outputs, the SSL 2 MKII delivers 120 dB dynamic range, allowing you to hear every detail in your productions—from the most subtle riff to the deepest bass line.

Two Headphone Outputs, Zero-Latency Monitoring

• The two headphone outputs (same mix) are conveniently located on the front panel. These reengineered outputs (featuring high-current NJM headphone amps) are capable of driving any type of headphones, from small in-ear monitors to large-diaphragm models.
• Now boasting an impressive 119.5 dB dynamic range, SSL 2 MKII gives you all the performance and clarity needed for accurate monitoring in any environment.
• The Mix control knob located on the front panel allows you to blend between the USB output (DAW) and live inputs, for zero-latency monitoring.

Legacy 4K Analog Enhancement

• Underneath the gain knobs on both input channels, you'll note the Legacy 4K button. This feature helps you bring dull, uninspiring audio to life as you record it, doing so by adding subtle harmonic distortion and a high-frequency boost.
• Both are analog processes that take their cue from the sound of the legendary and classic SSL 4000 Series consoles, hence the name 4K.

Next-Gen 32-Bit / 192 kHz

• The SSL 2 MKII is built around Next-Gen 32-bit / 192 kHz converters. Compared to the previous generation, it delivers clearer, more detailed recordings, preserving every nuance of your performance.
• Capture stunning acoustic performances, record drum machines and synths with more punch and texture. Make your live streams sound like professional broadcasts, and mix quicker and more easily as sounds are more defined.
