While sharing a similar low-profile look with its sister microphone (the DM-1S snare mic), the DM-1T is internally carved with a completely unique frequency response curve. It features a deeper low-mid extension and a highly musical bottom-end roll-off tailored to emphasize the natural shell resonance of small rack toms and deep floor toms alike. Additionally, the presence boost in the 5kHz to 10kHz region is subtly pulled back to give the stick attack a smooth, round tone that avoids harshness. Beyond drum kits, it yields outstanding tracking results on acoustic world percussion such as congas, bongos, djembes, and tablas.

Focused Cardioid Isolation and Heavy-Hitter SPL Protection:

In close-miking scenarios, bleed from loud crashing cymbals and adjacent snare hits can quickly ruin an otherwise great tom track.
