Four Unison Preamps with Assistive Auto-Gain:

The interface features four Unison-enabled microphone/line combo preamps alongside two front-panel Hi-Z instrument inputs. Unison technology creates a physical, bi-directional hardware link where loading a modeled plugin changes the actual input impedance, analog circuit behavior, and gain structures of the physical interface to match vintage hardware desks from Neve, API, and Manley. To optimize staging, the Gen 2 platform introduces Assistive Auto-Gain. With a single button click in the UAD Console software, the Apollo instantly calculates and sets ideal gain levels across all selected inputs, preventing unwanted digital clipping while protecting clean headroom.

Elite Gen 2 Audio Fidelity & Room Calibration:

The foundation of the Gen 2 series is its upgraded monitoring matrix. Delivering a spacious 129 dB dynamic range and a pristine -120 dB THD+N, the x4 Gen 2 ensures that your mixing and mastering decisions translate accurately to the outside world.

To overcome bad room acoustics, the interface runs Apollo Monitor Correction powered by Sonarworks®. This feature lets you load your custom SoundID Reference calibration curves directly into the Apollo’s internal DSP chip. The acoustic speaker and headphone corrections operate with zero added latency, meaning you can monitor through a completely flat frequency profile without stressing your computer’s CPU.

Comprehensive Desktop Command & Crossover Control:

The heavy-duty desktop enclosure acts as an advanced studio monitor controller. It features physical buttons for Alt speaker switching, Mono summing, Dim, and Mute, along with a built-in Talkback Microphone to seamlessly communicate with artists. For studios using a subwoofer, the upgraded UAD Console App brings hardware-driven Bass Management, letting you establish exact low-frequency crossover boundaries directly inside the interface’s digital matrix for tight low-end management.
