The OCC7 True Condenser Capsule:
At the heart of the OC7 is the OCC7 capsule, a small-diaphragm masterpiece inspired by classic Viennese designs. This capsule provides a remarkably linear frequency response, capturing instruments with a "truthful" replication that requires minimal EQ. From the delicate shimmer of acoustic strings to the aggressive crack of a snare, the OC7 delivers a natural and open sound.
Advanced Engineering for Studio & Stage:
Open Acoustics Technology: Austrian Audio’s signature design minimizes internal reflections and acoustic interference. This results in a "Linear Cardioid" characteristic, ensuring that even off-axis sound (bleed from other instruments) remains natural and undistorted.
Massive SPL Handling: The OC7 is exceptionally overload-resistant, capable of handling 154 dB SPL (and over 160 dB SPL with the pad engaged). This makes it a frontrunner for recording the loudest sound sources without fear of capsule distortion.
Versatile Tone Shaping: Equipped with a -10dB pad to reduce sensitivity and a 2-position high-pass filter (40Hz and 80Hz) to trim unwanted low-end rumble or manage the proximity effect.

The OC7 features a robust die-cast metal enclosure, designed to protect the sensitive true condenser capsule from the rigors of touring.
