Dual-Channel Versatility:

The N 248 is equipped with two independent channels, each featuring high-quality XLR 3 connectors. It can simultaneously power two separate mono microphones or a single stereo microphone (like the SM 69 series). Because the channels are independent, you can even engage in mixed operation: one channel can remote-control a TLM 170 R while the other provides standard 48 V power to a completely different microphone model without interference.

Patented Remote Pattern Control:

When used with the TLM 170 R or TLM 127, the N 248 acts as a remote commander. By using the front-panel rotary switches, you can toggle through the five polar patterns (Omni, Wide-Cardioid, Cardioid, Hypercardioid, and Figure-8) without touching the microphone. This is achieved by varying the nominal 48 V voltage within a ±3 V range—a safe, patented method that works over standard microphone cables up to 300 meters long.

Audiophile-Grade Signal Path:

Neumann has ensured that the N 248 does not color or degrade your audio. The audio signal outputs are entirely DC-free, protecting your preamp inputs from unwanted offsets.
