Product Overview
The Ultimate Solution for Flush-Mount Installations
Flush-mounting monitors (Soffit mounting) offers significant acoustic advantages by eliminating rear-wall reflections and increasing low-frequency efficiency. However, it creates challenges for heat dissipation and physical access to controls. The REK 4 solves these issues by separating the power amplification and control circuitry from the speaker cabinet. This allows the heat-generating electronics to be placed in a ventilated rack or machine room, while the cabinet remains perfectly integrated into the studio's acoustic treatment.
Product Description
Optimized Performance & Maintenance:
By moving the electronics up to 90 feet away, the REK 4 eliminates the risk of heat buildup within the wall cavity—a common cause of thermal throttling and component aging. Furthermore, it places all calibration controls (Gain, EQ, Phase, Delay) at the engineer's fingertips within the equipment rack. Maintenance becomes effortless, as the electronics can be serviced without having to de-mount or disturb the heavy loudspeaker enclosures.
Precision Signal Transmission:
To ensure that the reference-grade sound of the KH 420/410 remains uncompromised over long distances, the REK 4 utilizes high-current connectivity:
8-Pole speakON Connection: A dedicated heavy-duty cable carries the discrete driver signals for the tri-amplified system.
CAT-5 Connection: A separate data line carries the display and status signals to the front-panel LED indicators.
This dual-cable approach preserves the high damping factor and transient response required for critical mixing and mastering.
Smart, Space-Saving Design:
The REK 4 is designed for tight architectural spaces. The connectors on the cabinet cover plate are positioned to face downwards, eliminating the need for extra depth behind the monitor. This allows for shallower wall constructions and a cleaner, more organized cable run.
