Dual-Stage Operating Architecture with 120V VOLTAiR:
The endless headroom and deep resolution of the Performer s900 are rooted in its bi-operational voltage infrastructure. The initial input and driver tracking networks are powered entirely by SPL's proprietary 120V VOLTAiR technology, running on an ultra-clean plus/minus 60V DC internal rail system. This keeps the incoming signal pristine, boasting a massive -123 dB A-weighted noise floor.
When that pristine signal meets the heavy output section, the amplifier passes the torch to a dedicated plus/minus 64V DC high-current power rail system. This dual-stage insulation prevents heavy woofer voice coils from feeding back into the delicate input tracking circuitry, maintaining flawless structural separation, low distortion, and excellent stereo depth under heavy loads.
A Vault of Raw Energy – 866VA Transformer & 48k µF Capacitance:
An amplifier can only be as dynamic as its power supply reservoir. The physical core of the s900 houses a custom-engineered 866 VA linear toroidal transformer, heavily shielded to suppress physical vibrations and stray magnetic hum. This massive transformer feeds a premium storage reservoir containing 48,000 µF of fast-charging storage capacitors. When a musical crescendo explodes or an electronic sub-bass line drops, this enormous electrical reservoir discharges instantaneous current without any voltage sagging or temporal smear, rendering transients with jaw-dropping realism.
The back of the s900 features an ultra-precise Input Trimming Potentiometer that allows you to scale down incoming signals from 0 dB to -5.5 dB in highly accurate 0.5 dB steps. This feature is invaluable for perfectly level-matching your stereo amplifier with various preamplifier outputs, balancing room acoustics, or optimizing the overall sweet spot of your system's volume control.
To protect your premium loudspeaker investment, the Performer s900 includes advanced, non-invasive Protection Circuitry:
Overheating Safeguard: Monitored by internal thermal sensors, the unit safely manages its cooling cycles through low-noise fans if pushed past safe operating limits.
DC Voltage Overload Protection: If the amplifier detects harmful direct current (DC) at its terminals, an integrated micro-controller trips a yellow warning LED and immediately disconnects the speaker outputs, safeguarding voice coils from destruction without degrading the analog signal path.
