The Shape 50 is the most versatile monitor in the Shape series, ideal for listening distances as close as 30 inches (80cm). It offers a perfect balance of compact size and extended low-end performance. Its Class-AB bi-amplification provides 85W of total power (60W LF / 25W HF), ensuring high SPL and stable dynamics. The Shape 50 is specifically engineered to maintain a neutral tonal balance across its entire range, making it a reliable tool for critical mixing and mastering.

Natural Sound with Flax Cone Technology:

Handcrafted in France, the Focal Shape 50 utilizes the proprietary Flax sandwich cone. By layering flax fiber between thin sheets of glass fiber, Focal has created a driver that is lightweight, rigid, and highly damped. This results in superb midrange definition and a very natural sound reproduction that accurately reflects the nuances of your recording without adding artificial coloration.

Optimized Tweeter and Acoustic Stability:

The "M"-shaped inverted dome tweeter provides very low directivity, allowing for a wider sweet spot and more flexible listening positions. To further enhance clarity, the Shape 50 incorporates N.I.C. (Neutral Inductance Circuit) technology to stabilize the magnetic field and TMD (Tuned Mass Damper) surround to minimize distortion. These high-end acoustic treatments ensure a transparent and precise audio image that rivals much larger systems.

Flexible Room Integration:

Designed for the modern professional, the Shape 50 features dual side-firing passive radiators instead of a bass port. This allows the monitor to be placed directly against walls or in corners without the low-frequency turbulence common in ported designs. The rear panel includes XLR and RCA inputs, as well as adjustable EQ controls (high-pass filter, bass/treble shelving, and a 160Hz LMF EQ) to perfectly tune the speaker to your studio's unique acoustics.
