The 2.5-Way Flax Cone Advantage:
The Focal Shape Twin utilizes dual Flax sandwich cones—a core of high-quality flax fiber between two layers of glass fiber. In this 2.5-way setup, both 5-inch drivers produce low frequencies, but only the top driver handles the critical midrange. This ensures powerful, well-defined bass without any masking effect in the mids, preserving the neutrality and transparency essential for professional mixing and mastering.
M-Shaped Inverted Dome Tweeter:
The monitor features a 1-inch "M"-profile aluminum-magnesium tweeter that offers very low directivity. This design results in a remarkably wide sweet spot, allowing you to move naturally within your workspace without losing high-frequency accuracy. The Poron® suspension further enhances linearity, providing a smooth transition between the midrange and the highs for a fatigue-free listening experience during long sessions.
Portless Design with Passive Radiators:
To ensure high performance in tight spaces, the Shape Twin features dual 5-inch side-firing passive radiators. This eliminates the air turbulence and "chuffing" common in traditional ported designs, allowing the monitor to be placed closer to walls. Coupled with N.I.C. (Neutral Inductance Circuit) and TMD (Tuned Mass Damper) technologies, the Shape Twin delivers incredibly low distortion and a stable magnetic field for professional-grade audio fidelity.
