For this subwoofer, Focal utilizes a "double-skin" design—two cones fixed together to create even greater rigidity. This construction is essential for a subwoofer, as it allows the drivers to handle high-excursion movements without deforming, resulting in a faster, tighter bass response and zero sonic coloration.

Custom Class-D Amplification:

The Sub One is driven by two 100W Class-D amplifiers (total 200W RMS). This high-efficiency amplification ensures the subwoofer can reach a peak SPL of 114dB, providing enough headroom for cinematic scoring, electronic music production, and high-energy mixing sessions. The all-analog signal path avoids DSP latency, ensuring perfect timing with your satellite monitors.

Advanced User Controls and Integration:

The rear panel of the Sub One is a complete bass management hub. It includes an adjustable low-pass crossover and a switchable high-pass crossover (60Hz or 90Hz) for your main monitors. For those who frequently check their mixes in 2.0 vs 2.1, the footswitch input allows you to bypass the subwoofer and the high-pass filter on the satellites instantly, giving you a true A/B comparison at the tap of a toe.
