The MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment is an integrated solution specifically designed for Neumann studio monitors. Unlike conventional correction software, MA 1 does not require a plug-in or special audio driver during playback. The alignment data is stored and processed within the DSP-powered loudspeakers themselves. This results in increased clarity, consistency across monitors, dry bass, and a time-correct, highly accurate depiction of reverbs and acoustic spaces.

Reliable Monitoring Anywhere:
The MA 1 is a dedicated tool for aligning network-enabled KH Line monitors in stereo systems. It also supports stereo systems with Bass Management via additional subwoofers. For users with analog (non-network-enabled) KH Line monitors, alignment is still possible when connected through a Neumann KH Network-enabled subwoofer. This configuration offers the added benefit of phase linearization for analog monitors, significantly increasing accuracy in tonality and stereo localization.
How It Works:
The alignment is a guided process that requires no specialized acoustics knowledge:
Gather Performance: Connect your KH line monitors to your interface and the individually calibrated Class I MA 1 microphone to the mic input.
Network Connection: Connect the monitors to your computer via a standard Ethernet switch.
Analyze & Correct: The software ascertains the room's acoustic properties and generates correction parameters based on a room-specific target curve.
Finalize: Once aligned, the parameters are stored in the monitors. The Ethernet connection can then be removed, though keeping it allows for advanced functions like switching presets or deactivating subwoofers.
Multichannel & Bass Management:
The MA 1 ensures optimal summation between subwoofers and satellites, preventing the subwoofer from being perceived as a separate sound source. For those looking to expand into surround or immersive setups, a Multichannel Extension license is available as a separate paid extra.

Important Information
Software Download: The MA 1 software is available in the Neumann Product Registration portal under "Software Download."
iPad App Note: Using MA 1 will overwrite any previous adjustments made via the Neumann.Control iPad app.
System Control: A continuous network connection is only required if you wish to control level settings or switch presets during operation.
