Reliable Monitoring Anywhere:
The MA 1 is a dedicated tool for aligning network-enabled KH Line monitors in stereo systems, including those with Bass Management via a subwoofer. Even non-network-enabled (analog) KH Line monitors can be aligned via MA 1 when connected to a network-enabled subwoofer like the KH 750 DSP. Unlike conventional correction software, MA 1 is an integrated solution where alignment data is stored and processed within the DSP-powered loudspeakers themselves—no plug-ins or special audio drivers are required during your daily workflow.
Phase Linearization for Analog Monitors:
For analog Neumann monitors connected to a DSP subwoofer, the MA 1 offers the added benefit of linearizing the phase response. This results in further increased accuracy in terms of tonality, impulse reproduction, and stereo localization, bringing analog classics up to the same performance standards as the latest digital models.
How It Works:
The guided process requires no special acoustics knowledge:
Setup: Connect your KH line monitors to your audio interface and the MA 1 microphone to the input (48V phantom power required).
Network: Connect the loudspeakers to your computer via a standard Ethernet switch.
Analyze: The software ascertains the room’s acoustic properties and generates individual correction parameters according to a room-specific target curve.
Customize: You can modify the calculated target curve to your specific needs before saving the alignment directly into the hardware.
Multichannel Expansion:
While the standard MA 1 delivers outstanding results for stereo setups, a Multichannel Extension is available as a paid extra license for those looking to align surround and immersive (e.g., Dolby Atmos®) configurations.
