Product Overview
Powerful Reference-Quality Sub for Immersive Systems
The KH 870 II AES67 is designed for larger rooms where maximum headroom and precision are essential. It includes a unique and flexible Bass Manager for stereo, surround, and immersive systems up to 7.1.4. With its redundant AES67 connectivity, this subwoofer is a complete solution for integrating your entire loudspeaker setup into your Audio over IP infrastructure, accepting up to 12 channels of network audio to be distributed to up to 11 connected studio monitors.
Product Description
Next Generation Subwoofer Performance:
The KH 870 II AES67 improves significantly on its predecessor in both acoustic performance and feature set. Thanks to two novel long-throw 10” woofers with Extremely Linear Force Factor (ELFF™) technology and intelligent protection limiters, it ensures exceptionally low distortion even at maximum SPLs. Extending low-frequency reproduction down to 16 Hz, it delivers the massive scale required for film scoring and professional post-production mix theaters.
The Central Hub for Networked Audio:
As a "Generation II" flagship, this model is built for the future of AoIP. The redundant AES67 ports are fully compliant with broadcast standards such as ST 2110, ST 2022-7 redundancy, and RAVENNA, and are also compatible with DANTE®-generated AES67 streams. It serves as a signal hub, accepting multichannel audio via the network and distributing it through its 11 analog or AES3 (BNC) outputs, including its internal bass management.
DSP Power and MA 1 Integration:
The KH 870 II AES67 is DSP-controlled for superior sonic performance. When combined with the MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment (sold separately), it offers sufficient DSP power to align an entire stereo, surround, or even immersive system up to 7.1.4. This optimizes not only the frequency response but also the phase of the entire array—including analog Neumann monitors like the KH 310 or KH 420.
Precision in Every Detail:
Designed for the rigors of professional use, the rigid wooden cabinet features a highly efficient bass reflex system tuned for tight reproduction with inaudible port noise. A robust metal grille protects the dual drivers from accidental damage. With a novel power amp design, the KH 870 II AES67 combines flagship performance with excellent energy efficiency, including a customizable Auto Standby function.
