Pristine Fully Analog Single-Stage Circuitry:
The core routing framework of the 2Control is engineered for absolute transparency. It utilizes active, high-headroom analog circuitry to ensure your music is passed along with zero tonal coloration or added distortion. A massive, centrally located high-mass aluminum volume potentiometer controls a high-quality internal analog cell, providing incredibly smooth, precise, and perfectly balanced left/right channel tracking across the entire volume spectrum.
Dual Speaker Configuration and Dedicated Subwoofer Management:
Managing diverse studio perspectives is completely seamless with the 2Control. The unit controls two independent stereo loudspeaker outputs (Speaker 1 and Speaker 2), allowing engineers to flip between primary reference midfields and secondary nearfield monitors at the press of a button. Additionally, the unit incorporates a dedicated mono-summed Subwoofer Output. This sub line can be engaged globally or paired directly with Speaker 1 to effortlessly balance low-end sub-bass frequencies during heavy electronic or orchestral mix sessions.
Dual Headphone Amplifiers and the Phonitor Matrix:
The 2Control features two independent high-output headphone amplifiers, each equipped with its own dedicated volume control. Headphone Output 1 incorporates SPL's famous analog Phonitor Matrix Crossfeed control. Standard headphone monitoring suffers from an unnatural, exaggerated left/right split. The variable Crossfeed knob naturally blends a calculated portion of the opposite channel's signal into each ear, perfectly replicating the natural interaural level differences and 30° speaker placement angle of real studio monitors to eliminate ear fatigue.
High-Voltage Internal Headroom and Professional I/O:
The rear panel provides comprehensive connectivity for commercial studio environments. It is equipped with two sets of balanced XLR stereo inputs (Source 1 and Source 2) to feed signals from audio interfaces, tape decks, or master DACs. While the device utilizes a standard external power supply, its sophisticated internal transformers boost the voltage into a high-spec ±17 Volt analog audio rail. This massive voltage ceiling supports professional line level handling up to +22.5 dBu, preventing internal clipping even on highly dynamic, uncompressed transient peaks.
