Advanced High-Voltage Internal Rail Architecture:
Like SPL’s flagship mastering consoles, the MTC MK2 relies on an upgraded internal power framework. While it utilizes a convenient external switching power supply, its internal transformer stages immediately convert and step up the voltage to a high-spec ±18 Volt analog audio rail. This high-voltage operational topology provides an incredible dynamic ceiling with professional line level handling up to +22.5 dBu. Your transients remain completely uncompressed, distortion is virtually non-existent ($0.0015\%$), and your audio is passed onto your monitors with pristine clarity.
Unmatched I/O Grid and Speaker Calibration Controls:
The MTC MK2 offers a comprehensive routing grid on its rear panel. It features four balanced stereo inputs (three pairs of XLR and one pair of 1/4-inch TRS) alongside an auxiliary unbalanced RCA stereo input with a dedicated -10 dBV consumer level match switch. On the output side, it drives three independent stereo speaker pairs (Outputs A, B, and C) via balanced XLR connectors, alongside a dedicated Mono-Summed Subwoofer output that can be paired globally with any selected speaker array. Every single speaker output features independent, rear-panel trim potentiometers to perfectly balance monitor levels without messing with your master volume tracking.
Premium Cue Mix Layout and Flexible Talkback Options:
To manage complex performer workflows, the unit splits your monitoring into separate Mix and Cue signals. Musicians can receive a completely independent, zero-latency headphone tracking mix while the engineer listens to the main control room monitors. Communication is facilitated via the integrated Talkback system, which features a built-in electret microphone, a dedicated volume pot, a remote footswitch input jack, and a specialized Talk Output to route communication lines into a separate live-room video monitor or network. When active, it triggers automatic attenuation dimming to keep communication crisp.
The Iconic Phonitor Matrix and Specialized Monitoring Suite:
The front panel is loaded with technical diagnostic tools, anchored by a massive, custom-molded high-mass aluminum volume potentiometer that controls an elite analog tracking cell. It provides dedicated tactile hardware switches for Mono summing, Channel Polarity Inversion (Phase), L/R Channel Swap, and Dim attenuation. For tracking on headphones, the onboard high-output amplifier integrates SPL’s famous Phonitor Matrix Crossfeed control. This analog speaker-emulation circuit naturally blends a calculated portion of the opposite channel's signal into each ear, perfectly replicating the natural interaural level differences and 30° speaker placement angle of real studio monitors to eliminate ear fatigue.
