The Central Control Center for High-Fidelity Studio Monitoring
The SPL Control One addresses a critical need in the modern studio environment: a completely uncolored, reliable hardware hub to manage multiple listening sources and monitor pairs. Instead of relying on software volume faders that can degrade digital resolution, the Control One utilizes a fully analog attenuation path to maintain the absolute integrity of your audio signal. Hand-built with premium discrete components, it combines pro-level speaker switching with specialized headphone translation tools to ensure your mixes transfer flawlessly to the outside world.
Pristine Analog Volume Control and Flexible I/O Routing:
The core architecture of the Control One is designed for absolute transparency, ensuring that what goes in is exactly what comes out, with zero added distortion or coloration. The top panel features a heavy-duty, high-mass aluminum volume potentiometer that offers incredibly smooth, precise analog tracking. The rear panel provides comprehensive connectivity for your studio, including two pairs of balanced 1/4-inch TRS inputs to connect audio interfaces, DACs, or mixers, alongside a dedicated stereo unbalanced RCA input pair for consumer playback devices.
Dual Speaker Outputs with Dedicated Subwoofer Management:
Managing different monitoring perspectives is effortless with the Control One. It features two independent stereo loudspeaker outputs (Speaker A and Speaker B), allowing you to flip between your main reference monitors and a secondary pair of nearfields or multimedia speakers at the press of a button. Additionally, the unit incorporates a dedicated Subwoofer Output. This mono-summed output is hard-wired to Speaker A, meaning that whenever you select Speaker A, your subwoofer engages automatically to handle critical low-end monitoring, making it perfect for tracking bass-heavy electronic, hip-hop, or orchestral arrangements.
The Phonitor Matrix and Advanced Monitoring Modes:
Borrowing technology from SPL’s flagship mastering consoles, the Control One features an integrated Phonitor Matrix crossfeed circuit. Traditional headphone monitoring creates an unnatural, exaggerated left/right split; the Phonitor Matrix fixes this by bleeding a calculated amount of the opposite channel's signal into each ear, replicating the natural crosstalk and 30° speaker placement angle of real studio monitors. For deep troubleshooting within your mixes, the front panel also includes an absolute monitoring mode switch, allowing you to instantly alternate between Stereo, Mono, and Channel Swap (L/R) tracking.
High-Voltage Internal Headroom and Tour-Grade Chassis:
While the Control One is powered via a standard external 12V DC power adapter, its internal secondary power supply steps up and splits the voltage into a high-spec ±17 Volt rail for the analog audio circuits. This high-voltage design provides professional line level handling up to +22.5 dBu, offering massive dynamic headroom and preventing internal clipping on loud transient bursts. The entire system is encased in a rock-solid, low-profile desktop enclosure with a thick aluminum front panel, designed to sit elegantly beneath your monitors while surviving the rigors of heavy daily studio use.
Pristine Fully Analog Signal Path: Keeps your audio entirely uncolored and transparent, avoiding the digital resolution loss of software master faders.
Dual Speaker Switching (A/B): Dedicated front-panel buttons let you instantly compare your mixes across two different sets of studio monitors.
Hardwired Subwoofer Output: Mono-summed sub output automatically pairs with Speaker A to provide seamless low-end control.
Innovative Phonitor Matrix: Built-in headphone crossfeed circuit simulates stereo loudspeaker crosstalk to reduce ear fatigue and improve translation.
Advanced Monitoring Mode Toggle: Fast front-panel hardware switching between standard Stereo, summed Mono, and Left/Right Channel Swap modes.
High-Voltage ±17V Internal Rails: Internally boosts incoming power to deliver maximum headroom and a massive dynamic range up to +22.5 dBu.
Three Independent Input Sources: Accommodates two balanced professional TRS line inputs (+4 dBu) and one unbalanced consumer RCA stereo pair.
High-Mass Aluminum Potentiometer: Heavy-duty, ultra-smooth volume knob provides perfect analog level adjustments and tactile control.
