Premium 32-Bit AKM Velvet Sound DAC and ADC Stage:
The digital heart of the Marc One features the highly celebrated AK4490 premium DAC chip from Asahi Kasei, integrating signature Velvet Sound™ technology. This high-resolution converter handles digital audio streams via class-compliant USB, supporting sampling frequencies up to 768 kHz PCM and native DSD256 (DSD4). On the input side, a matching high-spec AKM converter chip provides transparent analog-to-digital conversion up to 768 kHz, allowing you to record pristine analog line signals directly into your DAW with absolute phase linearity and zero digital pre-ringing artifacts.
Pristine Analog Pre-Mixing and Direct Monitoring Control:
The Marc One features an exceptionally clever Monitor blend control on the top panel. This layout lets you fluidly balance the playback coming from your DAW (USB input) against an incoming live analog signal (Line 1 or Line 2 inputs). This mechanical tracking design allows musicians and voice artists to perform with true zero-latency direct monitoring, hearing their performance completely raw and unhindered by digital buffer delays, while a massive high-mass aluminum volume potentiometer tracks the master analog output level smoothly.
Dual Speaker Swapping and Hardwired Subwoofer Routing:
Managing different monitoring perspectives is completely effortless. The Marc One features independent stereo loudspeaker outputs (Speaker A and Speaker B), letting you flip between your primary studio reference monitors and a secondary pair of nearfields or multimedia monitors at the press of a single button. Additionally, the unit incorporates a dedicated Subwoofer Output. This mono-summed line output is dynamically linked to Speaker A, meaning that whenever you engage your main monitors, your subwoofer activates automatically to handle critical low-end sub-bass tracking.
The Phonitor Matrix and Advanced Monitoring Controls:
Borrowing spatial technology from SPL’s flagship mastering consoles, the Marc One features an integrated Phonitor Matrix crossfeed circuit. Traditional headphone monitoring creates an artificial, exaggerated left/right split; the Phonitor Matrix fixes this by bleeding a calculated amount of the opposite channel's signal into each ear, replicating the natural crosstalk and 30° speaker placement angle of real studio monitors. For deep troubleshooting within your tracks, a front-panel mode switch also lets you alternate instantly between standard Stereo, summed Mono, and Left/Right Channel Swap.
