The defining characteristic of the Diamond is its analog backend, powered by SPL's exclusive VOLTAiR technology. Running on a dedicated internal plus/minus 60V DC linear network—effectively delivering four times the voltage ceiling of conventional consumer and pro-audio conversion units—the Diamond achieves a massive +32.5 dBu of analog output headroom. This high-voltage architecture allows the discrete analog filters to handle sharp, complex digital transient spikes with absolute transparency. Digital files completely shed their cold, clinical edge, adopting a relaxed, wide, and deep sonic signature devoid of phase smear or dynamic compression.
Premium DAC768 Conversion Matrix:
On its digital front, the Diamond incorporates an ultra-resolution DAC768 processing architecture centered around a premium 32-bit converter chipset. It handles asynchronous PCM streams up to a breathtaking 768 kHz and native Direct Stream Digital signals up to DSD256 (DSD4) over USB.
