Analog Soul with Digital Brains for Seamless Hybrid Workflows
The Creme RC is the remote-controllable successor to the original Creme, an industry-standard hardware piece that has become a staple for engineers worldwide. By integrating a network Ethernet interface and custom-calibrated servomotors into the faceplate, Tegeler allows you to control and automate every single knob directly via a dedicated DAW plug-in (VST, AU, AAX). This completely eliminates the need for manual recall sheets or digital photos of your rack; all settings are saved inside your DAW session project and automatically synchronized with the hardware unit upon boot.
The signal path itself remains 100% analog, featuring discrete premium components and a flexible routing architecture that allows you to change the order of the EQ and compressor with a single click.
The Passive Pultec-Style Master EQ:
Based on the classic Pultec principle, the equalization section has been carefully refined and calibrated specifically for the delicate nature of mix-bus processing. Rather than using wide, aggressive filters, the frequencies are targeted perfectly for balancing stereo masters:
Bass Boost: Provides a tight, massive low-end foundation across six selectable frequencies (20, 30, 60, 100, 140, and 200 Hz), adding foundational thrust without generating muddy low-mid build-up.
Treble Boost: Delivers an open, silky high-end sheen across six selections spanning 10 kHz up to an expansive 24 kHz air band, injecting expensive-sounding clarity and "sparkle" while avoiding digital sibilance.
The Mastering VCA Compressor Engine:
The dynamics block is engineered for harmonic, transparent level control that pulls individual instrument tracks and groups smoothly into place:
The Perfect Mix Glue: Operating with a soft-knee characteristic, the compressor can glue a mix inaudibly or add a rhythmic, musical bounce to the tracking material depending on your attack and release settings.
Side-Chain Low-Cut: Includes switchable internal sidechain filters (60, 120, and 200 Hz) to ensure that heavy low-frequency instruments like kick drums or sub-bass lines don't trip the compressor prematurely and cause unwanted mix pumping.
Specialized "Cream" Mode: Borrowing advanced dynamic timing curves from Tegeler's Schwerkraftmaschine, this specialized setting provides a fast, program-adaptive release profile tailored for modern, high-energy music production styles.
FULL RECALL & REMOTE PLUG-IN CONTROL: Control and automate all physical parameters from your computer via a native DAW plug-in over a standard Ethernet connection.
HIGH-PRECISION MOTORIZED POTS: Physical front-panel knobs move automatically to match plug-in adjustments for a flawless hybrid experience.
PURE ANALOG STEREO SIGNAL PATH: Transformer-balanced design with premium discrete circuits guarantees pristine audio imaging and massive headroom.
SWITCHABLE INTERNAL ROUTING: Instantly switch the signal order via hardware relays—place the EQ before the compressor or after it to match your mixing intent.
SOFT-KNEE COMPRESSION MATRIX: Provides highly musical ratio curves ranging from a gentle 1.5:1 for mastering to an intense 10:1 for heavy bus limiting.
ADVANCED DYNAMIC TIMING: Features attack speeds from 0.1 ms to 30 ms, variable release periods up to 1.2 seconds, plus a specialized Auto mode and "Cream" mode.
INTEGRATED SIDE-CHAIN FILTERING: Toggles through 60 Hz, 120 Hz, and 200 Hz filters to prevent low-end energy from dominating your dynamics.
VINTAGE MOVING-COIL VU METER: Beautifully illuminated analog needle tracks gain reduction values accurately on the faceplate.
SHIELDED INTERNAL TOROIDAL PSU: Custom linear power engine isolates components from hum and radio-frequency noise.
HANDMADE IN GERMANY: Built and sound-tested in Germany using premium through-hole components selected entirely by ear.
