The Sound of the World's Most Famous Studio Reverb, Shrunk for Your Pedalboard
Introduced in the late 1950s, the German EMT 140 steel plate reverb unit revolutionized modern recording. Weighing over 600 pounds and taking up an entire backroom in legendary studios like Abbey Road and Sunset Sound, these mechanical plate systems added a dark, shimmering, and perfectly glued depth to hit records across all genres. The Universal Audio UAFX Heavenly Plate Reverb condenses that gigantic, legendary studio sound into a pedalboard-friendly, single-width footprint.
Built upon Universal Audio's advanced digital signal processing, the Heavenly Plate Reverb calculates the complex physical behavior of sound hitting a massive piece of vibrating steel. It doesn't rely on flat, static digital approximations; it reacts dynamically to your picking attack and instrument volume, decaying naturally with a lush, three-dimensional width that breathes professional studio quality into your sound.
Three Distinct Plate Voicings and Dynamic Pre-Delay Tuning:
The Heavenly Plate Reverb features a dedicated 3-way Vintage Plate toggle switch, letting you browse through three masterfully curated plate algorithms modeled after pristine vintage units:
Vintage Bright: Captures a highly reflective, open plate configuration with an articulate, glassy top-end response. It is ideal for adding definition and high-end shimmer to single-coil guitar riffs, rhythmic picking patterns, and lead lines that need to slice straight through a dense mix.
Vintage Dark: Emulates a warmer, mellower plate texture with a soft, rolling treble response. It coats your dry playing in a thick, moody, and nostalgic ambient shadow, making it the perfect companion for jazz lines, lo-fi keys, and smooth blues solos.
Modern Full: Delivers an ultra-dense, balanced, and uncolored plate simulation with enormous stereo-like width and an even frequency distribution. It is the perfect "all-rounder" setting for creating modern indie-rock soundscapes, cinematic acoustic guitar beds, and wide studio effects.
To ensure your core tone stays punchy and defined, the pedal includes an adjustable Pre-Delay knob. This introduces a slight, musical delay before the reverb engine starts, separating your dry instrument attack from the washing reverb tail so your playing never feels muddy or washed out.
Pro-Level Tone Sculpting and Analog Dry-Through Integrity:
Shaping your ambient space on the fly is intuitive thanks to an interactive hardware knob layout. The Damping control works exactly like a physical plate system's mechanical dampening pads, rolling off high-frequency reflections to change how dark or bright the reverb decay becomes. The Bass knob tightens up or expands the low frequencies, keeping your low-end notes tight and articulate.
Designed to meet the rigid demands of professional touring musicians, the Heavenly Plate Reverb features an internal Analog Dry-Through path. Your instrument's raw, unaffected signal stays entirely in the analog domain, ensuring zero latency and zero digital conversion artifacts.
On the rear panel, a hardware slider lets you switch between True Bypass (for an absolutely clean, uncompromised signal path when the pedal is disengaged) and Buffered Trails Bypass (allowing the beautiful plate reverb tails to spill over and decay naturally when you click the pedal off).
AUTHENTIC EMT 140 PLATE EMULATION: Component-level digital recreation of the legendary 1950s German mechanical plate studio reverb systems.
THREE SELECTABLE PLATE VOICINGS: Onboard toggle lets you switch between Vintage Bright (Glassy), Vintage Dark (Warm/Moody), and Modern Full (Dense/Wide).
BUILT-IN MODULATION ENGINES: Switchable Slow/Fast modulation modes add a beautiful, chorus-like movement and shimmering textures to the reverb tails.
PRE-DELAY TONE SEPARATION: Adjustable pre-delay control isolates your instrument's initial note attack from the ambient decay for crystal-clear note definition.
ADVANCED DAMPING & BASS CONTROLS: Shape the treble reflections and low-end response of the virtual steel plate to seamlessly fit any mix.
SWITCHABLE TRUE / TRAILS BYPASS: Choose between absolute true mechanical relay bypass or buffered trails bypass with smooth reverb spillover.
PURE ANALOG DRY-THROUGH: Keeps your dry instrument signal completely untouched to preserve raw tone integrity and eliminate digital latency.
COMPACT INDUSTRIAL DESIGN: Heavy-duty, compact die-cast aluminum enclosure built to handle decades of heavy stage and studio use.
