Authentic Optical Soft-Knee Compression and Flexible Time Recovery:
The UAFX Teletronix LA-2A features a dedicated 3-way Switch on the front panel, letting you instantly change the response envelope and time-recovery characteristics of the internal optical modeling engine:
Stock Mode: Recreates the factory-spec behavior of a pristine, vintage LA-2A rack hardware unit. It features a smooth, gradual soft-knee compression curve with a slow, program-dependent multi-stage release time. This mode is perfect for transparent dynamic leveling, adding a rich, natural acoustic guitar strum sheen, or providing deep, pillowy sustain to bass lines.
Fast Mode: Speeds up the attack and recovery parameters of the virtual T4 optical cell. This delivers a much faster clampdown on your transients, making it highly effective for percussive clean lines, funk chicken-picking guitar parts, or controlling aggressive string pops on an electric bass.
Comp / Limit Toggle: Mirrors the original hardware switch, allowing you to transition between a musical Compress mode (a lower, gentler ratio that reacts dynamically to your playing) and a full Limit mode (a much stiffer, higher-ratio threshold designed to brick-wall harsh peaks and generate intense sustain).
