Sonic Time Travel Through the World's Finest Delay Circuitry
For decades, Universal Audio has been the gold standard in studio emulation hardware and software processing. The Universal Audio UAFX Starlight Echo Station packs that uncompromising DSP power into a road-ready, heavy-duty stompbox. This pedal is designed for musicians, sound designers, and studio producers who refuse to settle for generic digital snapshots or flat, static impulse responses.
At the core of the Starlight Echo Station is a powerful dual-engine UAFX processor. It runs independent stereo instances of each delay type simultaneously, generating massive three-dimensional spatial images, rich ping-pong echoes, and complex ambient textures. Whether you want the organic, unpredictable wow-and-flutter of an early '70s tape machine, the syrupy bucket-brigade warmth of a late '70s analog pedal, or a pristine, crystal-clear 1980s studio digital delay, the Starlight Echo Station responds with unparalleled fidelity and organic musicality.
Three Definitive Delay Engines and Optional Preamp Coloration:
The Starlight Echo Station comes equipped with three masterfully modeled delay machines, with a fourth available immediately upon hardware registration:
Tape EP-III: A comprehensive, component-level emulation of the legendary early‑'70s solid-state tape echo unit. It accurately replicates every quirk of the original hardware—including tape splice artifacts, motor drag, and mechanical wow-and-flutter. You can use the A/B/C variation switch to select between Mint (new tape and machine calibration), Used (warm, broken-in character), or Worn (dark, warbly, highly textured tape tracking). It even includes the unit's highly coveted, thick discrete preamp circuit coloration.
Analog DMM: Captures the syrupy, hazy repeats and thick modulation of the world's most famous American bucket-brigade delay pedal. It models the entire circuit, right down to the unpredictable clock-rate dumping behavior and input gain staging, allowing you to trigger classic self-oscillating "whoosh" effects, vibrant chorus textures, and lush, organic trails.
Precision: A goldmine of modern, hi-fi studio delays. It yields mirror-image, crystal-clear repeats paired with pristine, shimmering modulation. It allows you to quickly dial in precise rhythmic tap delays, gorgeous stereo flange and chorus accents, and widening ping-pong delay spreads that maintain absolute frequency clarity.
Bonus Cooper Time Cube (Free on Registration): A flawless emulation of the unique 1971 mechanical garden-hose delay system used in world-class tracking rooms for fat, short, mechanical slapback textures and incredible stereo widening.
Advanced Controls, Live/Preset Modes, and Spillover Trails:
The physical control interface provides instant access to crucial sound-shaping parameters. The Color knob adjusts preamp saturation or high/low frequency balancing depending on the active delay mode, while the Mod knob dials in dedicated pitch-modulation depth or tape warble.
The dual-footswitch design enables seamless operation on stage. The right footswitch acts as a Tap Tempo control with selectable rhythmic subdivisions (quarter notes, dotted eighths, triplets, etc.), while the left switch engages the effect. With Live/Preset modes, you can toggle between your current physical knob positions and a saved favorite preset instantly. Thanks to the massive internal processing overhead, switching between modes happens with dead-silent relay switching and full effect spillover/trails, ensuring your delay tails never snap off unnaturally when you bypass the pedal or swap patches.
Modern Connectivity and App Integration:
The Starlight Echo Station features true stereo input and output ports with automatic detection, ensuring a massive stereo field or perfect routing into a wet/dry/wet live amplifier configuration. It retains an analog dry path to ensure your raw guitar tone remains completely uncorrupted.
Equipped with a built-in Bluetooth chip and a rear-panel USB-C port, the pedal connects effortlessly to the UAFX Control mobile and desktop app. The app unlocks advanced under-the-hood global settings, provides programmable MIDI clock sync synchronization, changes bypass routing (True Bypass vs. Buffered Trails), and lets you customize the dual footswitch behaviors.
UNCOMPROMISING DELAY EMULATION: Next-generation component modeling capturing legendary vintage tape, analog bucket-brigade, and studio digital delay units.
DUAL-ENGINE PROCESSOR: Separate stereo instances of each delay run simultaneously for immense spatial depth and wide ping-pong imaging.
TAPE EP-III AGING SWITCH: Instantly swap between New, Used, and Worn tape profiles with realistic wow, flutter, and mechanical artifacts.
ANALOG PREAMP COLORATION: Recreates the exact input gain behavior and harmonic saturation of vintage hardware preamps.
TAP TEMPO WITH SUBDIVISIONS: Dedicated footswitch tap control with multiple rhythmic subdivision options to sync perfectly with your track.
LIVE & PRESET SELECTION: Instantly store and recall your favorite custom patch with an on-the-fly hardware toggle mode.
SPILLOVER AND TRAILS: High-headroom design ensures delay tails naturally decay without getting cut off when bypassing or switching presets.
BLUETOOTH UAFX APP LINK: Wirelessly deep-dive into secondary settings, swap bypass modes (True/Buffered), and download the bonus Cooper Time Cube delay model.
