Transparency Meets Analog Soul
Most preamps are either "clean" or "colored," but the Camden 500 offers the best of both worlds. Its transformerless design ensures your signal remains pristine and linear for critical tracking. When you need character, the Mojo control allows you to engage two distinct saturation styles—Thump and Cream. Optimized for mic, line, and instrument (Hi-Z) sources, it is a versatile powerhouse for any professional recording setup.
Custom Camden Topology:
The Camden 500 is built on a custom topology that pushes performance to near-theoretical limits. It features an EIN of -129.5dBu and ultra-low THD+N (<0.0004%), ensuring that even at high gain levels, your audio remains transparent. This makes it an ideal choice for low-output sources like ribbon microphones that require a high amount of clean gain.
Mojo Saturation Circuit:
The Mojo circuit is a completely analog engine designed to emulate the non-linear behavior of vintage hardware:
Thump: Excites low-end harmonics (20Hz to 160Hz), adding weight and a solid foundation to kick drums, bass guitars, or thin-sounding vocals.
Cream: Mimics vintage valve-style smoothness and introduces musical "grit" in the mids, helping tracks sit forward in a mix naturally.
Versatile I/O and Precision Recall:
Equipped with a 12-way stepped gain switch, the Camden 500 provides 68.5dB of clean gain. The stepped design ensures that matching stereo pairs or recalling session settings is fast and accurate. Additionally, a dedicated front-panel Hi-Z DI input is included, specifically optimized for high-quality guitar and bass recording.
68.5dB Clean Gain: Stepped switch for high-precision gain staging and easy recall.
Mojo Analog Circuit: Dual modes (Thump and Cream) for adding vintage analog character.
Near-Zero Distortion: Industry-leading THD+N levels below 0.0004% for total transparency.
High-Pass Filter: A progressive 80Hz filter to eliminate unwanted low-end rumble.
3-Way Input Switch: Tailored settings for Microphone, Line, and Instrument levels.
Reference Performance: Flat frequency response (±0.25dB) from 5Hz to 200kHz.
