Simplified Studio Connectivity
The N22 is built on the Cat 5 Analogue Signal Transport (C.A.S.T.) platform. Instead of running four separate XLR cables, you can use one affordable network cable to carry your audio. This completely passive device requires no power and introduces zero latency, maintaining the absolute purity of your signal. Its small footprint and "tank-like" steel construction make it perfect for both permanent studio installations and demanding stage environments.
How C.A.S.T. Works with N22:
The Cranborne Audio N22 features a clever routing system that utilizes the four internal pairs of a Cat 5 cable.
Two XLR/TRS Combo Inputs: These allow you to plug in microphones or instruments to send audio back to your interface or mixer.
Two XLR Outputs: These receive stereo monitor mixes or re-amp signals from your control room.
By using shielded Cat 5e/6/7 cables, the N22 ensures that 48V Phantom Power is delivered safely to your microphones while maintaining superior rejection against interference and crosstalk.
The "Spider" Replacement:
Traditional "spiders" or analog snakes are heavy, expensive, and prone to failure. The N22 replaces these with a system that is easy to hide, easy to replace, and significantly more cost-effective. Whether you are running audio to a vocal booth or setting up a remote recording rig, the N22 provides a professional, high-fidelity connection that installs in seconds.
Universal Compatibility:
While it is the perfect companion for Cranborne Audio interfaces, the N22 can also be used as a standalone point-to-point analog snake. By connecting two N22 units together with a single Cat 5 cable, you create a 4-channel bi-directional link between any two locations in your studio, providing two sends and two returns instantly.
4-Channel Audio Transport: Sends 2 balanced inputs and receives 2 balanced outputs.
Cat 5 Connectivity: Uses standard shielded Cat 5e/6/7 cables for up to 100m runs.
Completely Passive: No power supply needed; zero noise and zero latency.
High-Quality I/O: Features premium XLR/TRS combo inputs and balanced XLR outputs.
Phantom Power Compatible: Supports 48V for condenser mics and active DIs.
All-Steel Construction: Rugged build quality designed for professional use.
C.A.S.T. Ready: Direct plug-and-play with 500R8, 500ADAT, and N8 hubs.
