It functions as an ultra-low-noise mic preamp, a dual-channel DI, and a powerful headphone monitoring station. Its unique C.A.S.T. integration also allows you to simplify studio cabling by using affordable Cat 5e/6/7 cables to distribute audio without signal loss.

The Cranborne Audio Camden EC2 provides up to 68.5dB of gain in precise 5.5dB stepped increments. With an EIN of -129.5dBu, it is one of the quietest preamps available, making it ideal for low-sensitivity ribbon and dynamic microphones. Its frequency response is exceptionally flat, extending from 1Hz to 1,000kHz, ensuring that every transient is captured with absolute phase and frequency linearity.
Dual Mojo Analog Saturation:
Each channel includes a variable Mojo control that can be completely bypassed for a clean signal or engaged to add two distinct analog characters:
Thump: Emulates the low-end weight and "girth" of vintage British transformer-based preamps, boosting odd/even harmonics below 160Hz.
Cream: Mimics the smooth high-frequency taming and midrange compression of classic tube-based equipment.
Zero-Latency Artist Monitoring:
The EC2 features two high-powered headphone amplifiers capable of delivering 1.2 Watts per ear. Each amplifier has its own discrete mixer, allowing artists to blend the local preamp signals with an external stereo playback source (via rear Aux inputs). This provides a true zero-latency monitoring experience, essential for inspiring performances during overdubbing.
